What Happens When Unsaturated Resin Curing Agent is Overdosed?

Unsaturated resin curing agents are typically added at a rate of 1.5% to 2%, varying with environmental temperature and filler content. Below 1%, particularly with MEKP, can result in under-curing, softness, or inadequate strength.

Exceeding recommended levels accelerates curing but may render parts brittle. There’s a critical threshold; overdosing, especially beyond 20%, risks cracking or failure to cure.
