Principal Properties & Application

ALITA 123 series is an orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin solution dissolved in styrene, with added accelerator and thixotropic agent. This series features low viscosity, low exothermic reaction temperature, excellent workability, and outstanding water resistance. It also offers superior mechanical strength, making it suitable for hand lay-up or spray molding of FRP fishing boats, yachts, lifeboats, and other large molded products.It is certified by the China Classification Society (CCS).

• ALITA 123(N)W is a winter-grade resin, suitable for temperatures below 15℃(59°F).
• ALITA 123(N)M is a spring/autumn-grade resin, suitable for temperatures between 15-25°C (59-77°F).
• ALITA 123(N)S is a summer-grade resin, suitable for temperatures above 25℃(77°F).
• ALITA 123W, ALITA 123M, and ALITA 123S contain wax and are air-drying.
• ALITA 123NW, ALITA 123NM, and ALITA 123NS do not contain wax and are non-air-drying.

Note:

1. Curing agent dosage: 1.0% Butanox M-50;

2. Casting: 3 mm thickness, post-curing: Room temperature for 24 hours + 110℃ for 2 hours;

3. Fiberglass Plate: 3 layers of chopped strand mat EMC-450, post-curing: Room temperature for 24 hours + 40°C for 16 hours.

Handling and Storage:

This resin contains ingredients which could be harmful if mishandled. Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided and necessary protective equipment and clothing should be worn.

Drums – It is highly recommended that all material is stored at stable temperatures below 25℃ ( 77℉). Avoid exposure to heat sources such as d irect sunlight or steam pipes. To avoid contamination of product with water, do not store outdoors. Keep sealed to prevent moisture pick-up and monomer loss. Rotate stock.
