Which Has Higher Transparency: Gel Coat or Resin?

Within the same system, pure resin has significantly higher transparency compared to gel coat. However, this comes with challenges in achieving thixotropy and weather resistance. Transparent gel coat, while named so, is not perfectly transparent. The thinner the coat, the lower the opacity, but due to the addition of thixotropic agents, promoters, and UV stabilizers, some degree of opacity is inevitable.
