ALITA 191DC – High-Solid Unsaturated Polyester for Versatile Fiberglass and Stone Reinforcement Applications

Principal Properties & Application:

ALITA 191DC resin is an unsaturated polyester resin primarily derived from dicyclopentadiene. It exhibits moderate viscosity and reactivity. ALITA 191DC resin has high solid content, low viscosity, low shrinkage, and good fiberglass wetting properties. It offers excellent mechanical strength and resistance to water and heat, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. It can be used for general fiberglass products and also for repairing and reinforcing stone materials.

Note:

      1. The casting process follows GB/T 8237-2005, with a curing system consisting of 0.5% Co/oct promoter and 2.0% Butanox M-50 curing agent.

      1. After casting, the curing treatment involves 24 hours at room temperature, followed by 2 hours at 60°C and 2 hours at 80°C.

      1. After applying fiberglass reinforcement, the curing treatment involves 24 hours at room temperature, followed by 3 hours at 60°C and 3 hours at 110°C.

    Instruction and attention:

        1. ALITA 191DC resin contains wax but does not contain accelerators or thixotropic agents.

        1. ALITA 191DC resin is sensitive to light and can gel easily when exposed to light. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid opening the packaging or exposing it to strong light before use.

        1. For the curing system, it is recommended to use pure cobalt-based accelerators at a concentration of 0.4-2.0% (using colorless accelerators containing copper salts and potassium salts is not recommended, as it may result in poor curing and surface tackiness). MEKP curing agent should be used at a concentration of 1.0-2.5%.

        1. If the ambient temperature is high and the resin gel time is too short, reducing the amount of curing agent is not recommended. Instead, a gel delay agent should be added as needed. In environments with high humidity or high temperatures duringconstruction, surface tackiness may occur, and the addition of wax liquid can help mitigate it.

        1. ALITA 191DC resin exhibits characteristics such as high hardness and good heat resistance in fiberglass products. If there are requirements for toughness or limited production process conditions, it is recommended to choose ALITA ortho-type 191 resin.

      Handling and Storage:

This resin contains ingredients which could be harmful if mishandled. Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided and necessary protective equipment and clothing should be worn.
Drums – It is highly recommended that all material is stored at stable temperatures below 25°C (77°F). Avoid exposure to heat sources such as direct sunlight or steam pipes. To avoid contamination of product with water, do not store outdoors. Keep sealed to prevent moisture pick-up and monomer loss. Rotate stock.

      How can I get a sample?2024-07-17T06:56:11+00:00

We provide small samples free of charge, but you will need to cover the shipping costs.

Are you able to adjust the formula to meet our requirement?2024-07-17T06:59:11+00:00

We have our own technical department. After you test the sample, please provide us with your detailed requirements. We can adjust the resin accordingly to enhance the properties of your finished products.

What is the lead time for mass production?2024-07-17T07:00:10+00:00

Honestly, it depends on the quantity. We will do our best to create a production plan based on your estimated time of arrival (ETA).
